Here you will find the 5 Best Toys of All Time. According to GeekDad: "that as parents we all have limited budgets and we sometimes need help narrowing down our wishlists. So to help you out, I’ve worked really hard to narrow down this list to five items that no kid should be without". The rest is here.
Alot of people are angry over the churches and Christian organizations not helping as much as they did in the past..I dont think its unreasonable for a church to ask you to become a member and contributing body to their work if you are going to ask them for money that their members donated. The churches are hit with requests all year long but it triples during November and December and many are doing so poorly with their tithes/offerings due to the economy, they are feeling obligated to help their struggling members first.
Maybe you should consider joining a church and participating all year long and then you may make some lasting relationships in the process and meet people in the position to help you..I went to a church for help and got none many years ago and this is the advice that was given to me. It took a long time but finally I realized if my family was not able or willing to help me, I needed another family and the right church family became just that..it took me some time to find the right place, but I am now surrounded by members that are like my own family and when I am in need, there are more than enough people willing to help me..also please keep in mind that mostly all churches have outreach ministries and are committed to angel tree(gifts for needy children)..prison ministries, and international giving..I think this year sign ups for most non profits like toys for tots are in October..we will try to keep everyone on this page updated so that those who got no help this past Christmas get first shot at it this year.
in response to Dav23...I didnt know when the cut off day was, or who was offering services until too late. I tried to explain, but it fell on deaf ears. I was also hoping things would work out so that I would not have to ask for help. This is all new to me. What did I know... Nothing clearly.
OK - Christmas was the worst ever... no joke. Salvation Army and other charities told me I applied too late, churches told me I had to join to receive any help, other organizations were out of money to assist with.
I hav enever had a Christmas where I had nothing to give except something homemade. Sounds cute and "movie of the week" precious perhaps? NOT HARDLY. I am embarassed that every where I turned for help even to Christian organizations, I was told no.
at least its over and I have to focus on getting heat help. LiHeap will help a little when I get thepapers filed, but there are more bills than LiHeap can help with.
I was praying for an angel of mercy with a gift of funds.... I guess the answer to my prayer was NO

in response to Laura14...It is sad, trucks pay a lot of tax's for the use of our roads, and the Gov. of Texas spends more then what they have so that they increase tax's on us.

I am a single mother with an daughter who turns 3 in March. I am in desperate need for help to get her something for Christmas. I thought I'd be able to get her something but we've been staying in a motel trying to find an apartment and i just barely was able to pay for the hotel room for this week. The hotel manager was nice enough to let me pay him $75 less then what it would be for a week. Hey everyone I just want to start off saying 17 so this is why I don't have a job I had a summer job but it was just temporary and to help me get clothes for school. My mom every year struggles to get everyone a present, shes a realtor so of course you can see why she isn't making as much money as she should cus the market changes everyday. Well straight to the point every year she doesn't have enough money for gifts just for food, and paying the bills which I am more than grateful for but when i was the age of my younger sister and brother I would receive so many gifts from her and to see them not even get a single gift me and my mom cry every year and I try to cheer her up. Now i'm not saying how can i get money quick three days before christmas but is there anything you can think of that i can do to take their minds off of gifts like fun games to play, or watch movies. My mom has four kids I'm the second oldest, and now her brother who has 3 kids is living with us after the kids were abused by his new wife, along with her boyfriend and her aunt so you can only imagine how many of them are going to be disappointed christmas morning.... I just want everyone to have a smile on their face.

I know what your going through. me and my husband have 3 kids 6 3 and 1. we made 12000 dollars this year. I put an application in for toys for tots. They put on their web site that they would let families know if they were approved starting on the 18th. Well tomorrow is christmas eve and no call. I emailed them and they gave me a number to call. I called but the man that answered tje phone said that he had already left the office and took my number saying he would call and someone would get back with me. I guess this means no christmas for my kids cause i got no call. I wish they had let me know something so i could have tried other charities cause they said not to go to anyone else after you put the application it. I do not know what im gonna do.

I am homeless and I live with a family of a gal I went to High school with and they are low income and struggling with their own problems and they can't afford to buy their kids any gifts and they are relying on other people they know to get them what they want. I live in Phoenix, AZ and I am very grateful for this family and I want to help them out by getting their kids what they need, like clothes, shoes, but mostly winter coats. They have a son in college who's 20 years old and works P/T and needs new eye glass prescription, Then their second oldest, she's 18 year old that is focused on graduating, a 16 year old son who wants a video game system with games, but has only asked for clothes because it's what he needs. The youngest is 10 she's in need of clothes as well, but like any child, would prefer clothes over getting socks.
The household needs Cups/Glasses, Plates, Bowls, and forks and food. They can't seem to keep enough food in the house because the neighborhood kids come over and eat their food and they don't want to be rude and say, sorry you can't eat here. The kids that come over the most are fatty's that should go home and eat, but they don't. Sorry to be rude, but these people go hungry so that others can eat...

hello, I am a mother of a child who is 5 and soon of a baby boy whos on the way. Since the month of Dec started i have been feeling stresed out beause i finish school and because of chritmas. This year has become one of the sadest becasue economically i hvae not been doing good. I have no christmas tree nor any gifts because the only one working is my husband who makes very little income. I am so sad becasue my daughter is not going to receive any gifts this year from us. I dont even think my child who is also going to be born this month is going to have everything that is necessary. I feel so sad my husband struggles day by day to at least give us something to eat. I am praying my virgen marry to help me at least to give her anything little but significant to her. I would be glad only to have a smile in her face and glad to have my child in my arms he would be our best present. Is just so sad that for the first time in my life i feel this is no christmas at all and it makes me really depress see everybody smiling while shopping for there kids presents when i know i cant do the same . Please i need a miracle.
I am a single mom who is disabled and I barely have enough to pay my bills every month. My son is 19 , and his birthday was yesterday the 22nd. We have no money for Christmas or even food right now. I get food stamps and we have run out of food as we always do around this time of the month. I have 45 dollars in my purse and am short 200 for January rent. My wallet was stolen last month and I had 200 dollars in it. My son has been walking everywhere applying for a job, but has not had a call back. I struggle with gas money. If anyone has a heart and can just give my child something for Christmas I would be so grateful! It is a horrible feeling when you have to watch your only child sad and feel unimportant this time of year when everyone else is getting presents. I will keep your family in my prayers as well. I am sure that Christmas will be fine, in spite of the gift situation. Like my kids said, Christmas should be about our love for each other and Jesus, not the presents. Such wise lil' souls! I am sure that it will be worse on me and my husband than on them. We just feel so guilty helpless and hopeless.
Things just seem to be going from bad to worse. We just got notice that we are being foreclosed on, my husbands wages are being garnished for my medical bills, my disabiliy claim has been denied, we are unable to receive any type of government assistance because my husband insists on working, case worker actually told me to tell him to quit and they could help, HA! Isn't that crazy? Our system at work, help those who won't help themselves, but screw the honest hard working citizen that can't make ends meet.

My friend recently took me into her house. I was living in a homeless shelter and my time came up to vacate. I'm in the Phoenix, Arizona area. Her and her husband are low income and have three kids living with them and they are practically living in poverty. They don't have many dishes or forks, but lots of spoons and two bowls and three plates. The two girls don't have many clothes and they only have one pay of shoes each. Their son is in need of clothes as well like button up/collared shirts, slacks, jeans, dickie type material or cargo's. They have contacted numerous places to get help for their kids. The youngest is ten and they know they are only getting one present each which is sad because most of their needs is what they need and not what they really want like video games and toys, stuff that kids should enjoy.
We need a Christmas miracle! Two days before Christmas and we have no presents for our children. We have a 10 yr old son and an 8 yr old daughter. We have focused so hard on keeping our home from going into foreclosure, that we haven't been able to buy a single gift. And all for nothing because we were served with forclosure papers this week afterall. I've explained the situation to the children and they both say they understand and everything will be okay. They are such good kids, they deserve at least a little something for Christmas. If you are able to help I would be so thankful to you for brightening my babies holiday. I am a young mom of 4 and have been unable to work due to high risk pregnancy complications. in response to christmas spirit...Hello, I am applying for a friend and past co-worker of mine. I am a social worker who normally helps people in these type of situations but have also been through tough times. The non-profit family support agency I worked for had major budget cuts and I lost my job. I have been struggling myself, but am still helping past clients and friends with my knowledge of community programs and such. Yesterday I received a telephone call from my friend, whom I had not heard from in a while. She had been lost as in what to do for assistance when she too lost her job around the same time I did. I am trying to help her, though I know it is so close to the holiday right now. She has a 5 year old son, unemployed, and many of her bills are past due or services have been cut off.
This is a deserving family. She had a recent job interview and is praying for the best! She is one who does not take advantage of charity or government assistance programs. I have seen my share of those who live off the government in my line of work!

Hey am just sat here feeling lost...alone at christmas with my 7 year old havent got any moey for christmas dinner and struggling to come up with it............he says it doesnt matter but it matters to me shouldnt i be able to provide him with a beautiful dinner on a special day and make it special...i know it sounds a bit self pitying but he is so good about stuff we had 2 rounds of bread left this morning he toasted both and gave me one and said one each will last us until tonight for tea wont it...it isnt right that he should live like this...i feel a failure as a parent :(
